Apparently, after extensive testing, many experts are saying 360Hz is the true sweet spot before diminishing returns seriously kick in. They found the jump from 144Hz to 240Hz gives a massive gameplay improvement, and then 240Hz to 320-360Hz offers another noticeable boost in experience, even if it doesn't directly make you play "better." Beyond 360Hz, like at 600Hz, the differences become minimal and don't affect performance much. Honestly, I'm still using a 144Hz monitor and always thought that was enough for most competitive titles.
