Relic Entertainment is giving players an inside look at the development of Company of Heroes 3 and its new destruction system. In a recent post on the game’s official website, members of the development team discuss how they created a more realistic and believable system that allows for more strategic gameplay. The team goes into detail about the different layers of the system and how they work together to create a more immersive experience. They also talk about the challenges they faced during development and how they overcame them. The post is an interesting read for anyone interested in game development or strategy games. It’s great to see the team’s dedication to creating a truly unique gaming experience. I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for us!
Company of Heroes 3 is trying to do something that other titles have tried to do in the past but have failed miserably which is adding a bunch of destruction based physics to the buildings and houses on the map. I remember when I first played the original Company of Heroes way back in 2006, I was just blown away by how you could destroy almost every building in the game. It really added a sense of realism and immersion that other games just didn’t have at the time. We’ve seen other titles try to replicate this formula since then, but they’ve all fallen short in one way or another. However, it seems like Relic Entertainment may have finally cracked the code with Company of Heroes 3. From what I’ve seen so far, the buildings look absolutely incredible and they finally seem to be getting the destruction physics right. I can’t wait to see more of this game in action and hopefully it lives up to the hype.
