Call of Duty fans preparing for Black Ops 5 in 2024 after an image leak

Fans of the Call of Duty franchise are already buzzing about the possibility of Black Ops 5 being the next game in the series.

New images have leaked online that, among other things, appear to hint at Black Ops 5 being 2024's installment for the FPS series. The image in question is a piece of marketing collateral that was allegedly leaked from Activision. It features what appears to be a futuristic cityscape, as well as the date "2024" prominently displayed in the

Twitter user @CharlieIntel managed to find the images in a recent Warzone Mobile update and subsequently tweeted them out. The pictures show what appears to be an emblem for Black Ops 5, as well as a few other references to the game.

Although no details about the game have been officially released, some fans now believe that it will take place during the Gulf War. This would be a departure from the traditional settings of Black Ops games, which have mostly been set in the present or future. However, it would allow for some new and interesting gameplay opportunities. This would be a new direction for the series, as all of the previous Black Ops games have taken place in more recent times.

Time line cold be from the time period between the early 1980s to the late 1990s was one of détente between the United States and USSR, rather than a continuation of the outright hostility that characterized the previous decade. The early 1980s saw a new American president in Ronald Reagan, who took a hardline stance against communism and pushed for an increase in defense spending.

This led to a renewed arms race, as both sides sought to gain an advantage. The United States began to pour money into new weapons programs, and the Soviet Union responded in kind. This continued throughout the 1980s, until the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991.. However, this period also saw a number of important agreements between the two superpowers, including the INF Treaty and START I. These agreements helped to lessen tensions and paved the way for further cooperation in the 1990s. As such, while the Cold War may have technically continued during this time period, it was certainly less intense than it had been previously.

With that said, it's worth noting that the image leaks could be fake. However, given the recent trend of Call of Duty games being leaked before they're officially announced, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Black Ops 5 is in fact the next game in the series. We'll just have to wait and see what happens

If Treyarch continues to alternate between modern and classic settings, it's likely that their next game will be set in the present day. However, there have been rumors that Sledgehammer Games is working on a new entry in the popular Advanced Warfare series, which would break this pattern. Given that 2022 is the 10-year anniversary of MW3, it's possible that we'll see a new Modern Warfare game then. But whatever Treyarch has planned for 2024, we can be sure that it will be another blockbuster hit.
