Starfield Could Be Heading to PlayStation 5, But Not Everyone is Convinced

Rumors are swirling that Starfield, the highly anticipated spacefaring RPG from Bethesda Game Studios, might be making its way to PlayStation 5 after all. This comes as a surprise, as the game was initially announced as an Xbox and PC exclusive.

According to a report by XboxEra, Starfield could land on PlayStation 5 sometime after the release of its "Shattered Space" expansion on Xbox, which is expected later this year. The report also claims that other Xbox titles, like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves, are also planned for release on rival platforms soon.

While these claims are exciting for PlayStation players, it's important to note that they haven't been officially confirmed by Microsoft or Bethesda. Additionally, some gaming journalists, like Jez Corden of WindowsCentral, believe Starfield might eventually come to PlayStation, but not anytime soon.

Further muddying the waters, recent statements from Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, suggest the four upcoming multiplatform games from Xbox will be titles over a year old. This wouldn't necessarily include Starfield, released in November 2023.

It seems like we'll have to wait for an official announcement from Microsoft or Bethesda to know for sure if Starfield is truly destined for PlayStation 5. Until then, take these rumors with a grain of salt.
