American Caper’s Wild Ride: Double-Sized Finale Issue Coming Soon!

Big news for comic lovers! The thrilling crime fiction series American Caper, crafted by the creative genius Dan Houser from Absurd Ventures, is set to end its season with a bang. Issue #12, a special double-sized finale, is slated for release on November 11, 2026.

During a live show, Houser teamed up with producer and co-writer Lazlow to share some juicy details about this intense season conclusion, dubbed a “messy season finale.” According to Houser, this marks the end of their saga in Wyoming, but don’t worry, the story isn’t done just yet! They plan to transition from a red state to a blue state in the upcoming storyline, which will kick off a few months after this issue wraps things up.

The synopsis for Issue #12 teases a chaotic climax in the small town of Verona, Wyoming. Marty’s gathering spirals out of control when uninvited guests crash the party. Expect some drama as Orson spills some unflattering truths to Eliza, while Marnie is on a relentless pursuit of her husband for revenge. Eva finds herself in a face-off with a cartel hitman, and Dre BK brings a unique flair to the chaos, balancing hallucinations and yoga amidst the firefight. It sounds like a wild conclusion!

This grand finale from Absurd Ventures, being published by Dark Horse Comics, will boast a hefty 44 story pages and will feature three stunning cover designs. Cover A is done by the talented Tyler Boss, while Variant Cover B comes from Becky Cloonan, who expressed her excitement about collaborating with such a stellar team. She reminisced about her admiration for David Lapham’s work, describing the collaboration as a dream come true. The artistic direction draws inspiration from her previous projects, blending vibrant colors with a surreal vibe.

Variant Cover C is crafted by Caroline Cash, who also expressed her thrill at contributing to such an innovative series. Editor Shelly Bond called it “a variant cover to end all variant covers,” highlighting the unique blend of gritty satire present in American Caper.

If you’re new to the American Caper universe, now’s the perfect time to dive in! The first volume, titled Red-Pilled Blues, is already out, collecting the first four issues for your reading pleasure. So gear up for the finale, and let the chaos of Verona take you on one wild ride!
