Forza Horizon 6: Performance and Quality Modes Unveiled for Xbox Series X|S
Get ready, gearheads! Playground Games has just dropped some exciting details about the upcoming Forza Horizon 6 for Xbox Series X|S, which is set to launch next week. If you’re curious about how the game will perform, they’ve laid out the graphics and performance modes in a recent reveal.
Both consoles will support two distinct modes: Quality and Performance. You can switch between them based on whether you fancy stunning visuals or a smoother gameplay experience.
On the Xbox Series X, the Quality mode offers gorgeous native 4K visuals at 30 frames per second (fps). If you lean towards a more fluid experience, the Performance mode aims for 4K as well but dynamically adjusts the resolution to maintain a solid 60 fps.
Meanwhile, for the Xbox Series S, Quality mode will run the game at 1440p and 30 fps, while the Performance mode will deliver a 1080p experience at 60 fps. Just like its bigger sibling, both modes on Series S will adjust the resolution on-the-fly to keep that smooth framerate.
But that’s not all! Forza Horizon 6 is set to feature a whopping nine radio stations and boasts the most extensive playlist ever seen in a Horizon title. Plus, if you’ve played previous Forza games, you’ll be rewarded with special loyalty cars! If your Xbox GamerTag has been part of the Forza family, you’ll snag the cover car from any of the past Horizon games, along with the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray from the 2021 cover. These sweet rides will be yours once you conquer the introductory race in Tokyo with Mei.
One notable exception is Forza Horizon 4; instead of the cover car, the 2016 Aston Martin Vulcan will be given, leaving the McLaren Senna out for now—perhaps due to some tricky licensing issues that often plague the auto industry.
