Pakistani Planeswalkers, Get Ready! New MTG Foundations Commander Decks Are Landing Soon!
Salaam, fellow Planeswalkers of Pakistan! Get ready to shuffle up and deal because we’ve got some exciting news fresh out of MagicCon Las Vegas that’s going to make your decks (and wallets) happy!
While we’re all buzzing about the upcoming Marvel and Star Trek sets hitting in 2026, Magic: The Gathering isn’t slowing down. They’ve just announced a brand-new wave of Commander preconstructed decks, and these aren’t just any decks – they’re tied to the Foundations set and are designed to bring more players into the fold.
For those unfamiliar, Foundations made its debut in 2024 as a set built to stay in Standard rotation longer than usual. Now, it’s making a massive splash in the Commander scene, which, let’s be honest, is easily the most popular way to play MTG these days. Come October, you’ll be able to grab these new Commander decks and jump straight into the action!
So, what’s the big deal with these new precons? Well, for starters, they’re all mono-colored! That’s a refreshing change from the multi-colored Commander decks we’ve seen a lot of recently. This makes them super straightforward and perfect for anyone just starting their MTG journey or looking for a simpler, focused playstyle.
Each of these five new decks comes with a sweet price tag of just $29.99 (MSRP). That’s a significant drop compared to many recent precons, making them incredibly accessible for newcomers to dive into the format without breaking the bank. And if you’re looking to collect them all, there’s even a bundle for all five decks priced at $149.95.
While we don’t have the full card lists yet, we do know the themes are packed with tribal synergies and classic MTG vibes:
- Green gets the awesome-sounding “Tramplesaurus Rex” deck, all about summoning massive creatures and stomping your opponents.
- Red brings the heat with “Reign of Dragons,” focusing on aggressive strategies and, you guessed it, a whole lot of dragons!
- Blue players can tinker with “Keen Engineering,” a deck centered around artifacts and the ever-present Thopters.
- White calls upon divine power with “Calling All Angels,” perfect for those who love to flood the board with winged protectors.
- Black delves into the dark arts with “Wretched Ranks,” where raising the dead and overwhelming your foes is the name of the game.
These decks might not be designed to instantly dominate a table of seasoned Commander veterans, but they offer a fantastic, budget-friendly entry point. Their focused mono-color strategies and tribal themes are ideal for learning the ropes and having a blast with friends.
Just a heads-up, though: while the $29.99 price point is amazing right now, super popular precons sometimes see their prices fluctuate. Remember the 2021 Starter Decks? Some of those became quite sought after! So, if you’re keen on grabbing these Foundations Commander decks, keeping an eye out when they drop in October might be a good idea.
