The Lowdown on Final Fantasy 14’s Housing Lottery: Your Guide to Scoring a Home

Gone are the days when players had to click endlessly on placards in Final Fantasy 14 just to see if they could snag a house! Now, the process is all about luck with a lottery system, but that doesn’t make it any less competitive. If you’re looking to make your mark in Eorzea by owning your own pad, here’s everything you need to know about the housing lottery, including the latest schedule for bidding and results.

So, what’s happening with the housing lottery? As it stands, the current entry period is open until June 5 at 7:59 AM PDT. Then, the results will be revealed right after, running until June 9 at 7:59 AM PDT. Mark your calendars!

Final Fantasy 14’s housing lottery follows a regular cycle every nine days: five days for entering bids and four days for the results. Here’s a quick glance at the upcoming schedule for the month:

  • 🏠 Entry: June 1 at 7:59 AM PDT – June 5 at 7:59 AM PDT
  • ⏱️ Results: June 5 at 7:59 AM PDT – June 9 at 7:59 AM PDT
  • 🏠 Entry: June 9 at 7:59 AM PDT – June 14 at 7:59 AM PDT
  • ⏱️ Results: June 14 at 7:59 AM PDT – June 18 at 7:59 AM PDT
  • 🏠 Entry: June 18 at 7:59 AM PDT – June 23 at 7:59 AM PDT
  • ⏱️ Results: June 23 at 7:59 AM PDT – June 27 at 7:59 AM PDT

Trying to get your hands on a house? Here’s how to enter the lottery: First, ensure you’re in the entry period (like we mentioned above). Next, to scout for available plots, check out tools like PaissaDB, which compiles data to help you find open housing lots based on your server and preferences.

When you’re ready to bid, remember you can only enter for one house per lottery cycle, so choose your plot wisely! Make sure you’ve got enough gil handy, as you’ll need to pay upfront. Head to the main aetheryte in your desired housing area—be it Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, or Ul’dah—and locate your chosen plot. Click on the placard, specify if it’s for you or your Free Company, and plop down your gil. That’s it! You’ll receive a number, and now it’s time to cross your fingers for the results!

Once the results period kicks off, it’s time to see if luck is on your side. Go back to the plot you bid on and click the placard again. The winning number will be displayed there. If you hit the jackpot, congrats! You’ll get to finalize the purchase and call that plot your home. But remember, you only have four days to complete the transaction; otherwise, you’ll lose the plot and half of your gil entry fee.

Didn’t win? Don’t sweat it! You’ll get a refund for your entry gil, which you can claim back within 90 days. So even if someone else is living large in the house you wanted, you can still recover your money and try again next time.

Happy house hunting in Eorzea, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
