End of an Era: Kingdom Hearts Cloud Versions Exit Nintendo Switch, New Horizons for Pakistani Fans!

Bhaio aur Behno, if you’re a fan of the epic Kingdom Hearts series and have been enjoying it on your Nintendo Switch via the cloud, we’ve got some important news straight from Square Enix that you need to know. The cloud versions of Kingdom Hearts games on the Switch are officially being delisted and will no longer be playable!

Yes, you read that right. As of June 9th, these specific cloud-based titles are waving goodbye to the Nintendo Switch:

  • Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX – Cloud Version
  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue Cloud Version
  • Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) Cloud Version
  • Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece Cloud Version

This means if you owned any of these, they’re now inaccessible. Previously, these collections were the only way for Switch owners to dive into Sora’s adventures, with prices ranging from $40 (approx. Rs 11,200)-$50 (approx. Rs 14,000) for individual bundles and the Integrum Masterpiece offering everything for around $90 (approx. Rs 25,200).

But don’t despair just yet! There’s a silver lining for those looking to continue their journey. Square Enix is rolling out brand new digital versions of these beloved games, specifically for the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Good news for future-proofing your KH experience!

The new digital editions, Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX for Switch and Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for Switch 2, are already available for pre-order. And here’s the best part for our existing cloud-version owners: you’re eligible for a sweet 50% discount on certain new digital purchases!

This half-price offer applies to the following digital versions:

  • Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX – (for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2)
  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive)
  • Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) (Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive)
  • Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] (Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive)

So, while the cloud versions are gone, this discount makes upgrading a bit easier on the wallet. Do note, however, that while there will be a physical version of Kingdom Hearts Collection [I~III] for Switch 2, this 50% discount won’t apply to it. It’s for digital upgrades only.

Worried about your precious save data? Fret not! Square Enix has confirmed that your save progress from the cloud editions will be transferable to the new digital versions on Switch 2. Phew!

And for a look into the future, fans got a surprise teaser for Kingdom Hearts 4 during the recent Nintendo Direct! The exciting news is that Kingdom Hearts 4 is confirmed for Switch 2, launching alongside its counterparts on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. While we don’t have a release date yet, knowing it’s coming to the next-gen Nintendo console is definitely something to look forward to!

Note: PKR figures are approximate, based on a rate of Rs 280.00 per USD. Exchange rates fluctuate — please check the latest dollar rate for exact pricing.
