Clayface Keeps His Secrets: What We Know About the Upcoming Horror Film
Looks like Clayface is keeping his full transformation under wraps until we hit the theaters! The upcoming horror flick, penned by Mike Flanagan, marks another exciting release for DC Studios, introducing us to Matt Hagen, a Hollywood star who turns into a terrifying monster.
The first teaser has already given us a taste of the chilling body horror we can expect, but it seems we won’t see much more before the movie officially drops. In a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, director James Watkins confirmed that they’re sticking to a classic horror tactic—holding back the big reveal of the monster. He likened this approach to Jaws, saying, “You don’t want to show the shark.” He believes that sometimes less is more, leaving room for mystery and letting fans piece things together on their own, which adds to the excitement.
Tom Rhys Harries, who portrays the infamous villain, shared his excitement about Clayface’s design, hinting that it’s something fans won’t want to miss. “It’s been a year since I saw that thing being built out. I can’t wait for people to see it,” he mentioned. He expressed his awe at the collaborative effort in film-making, praising the talent of everyone involved and feeling fortunate to be part of such a creative project.
Next up on DC Studios’ slate is Lanterns, set to premiere on HBO Max in August. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling universe and check out our comprehensive guides to upcoming DC films and series!
