Exciting News for Thief Fans: Graphic Novel and New Soundtrack on the Way!

Hold on tight, Thief enthusiasts! It’s a thrilling time to be a fan of this iconic stealth series. Just recently, at The PC Gaming Show, the announcement of Thief: The Dark Project Remastered took the gaming community by storm, thanks to the talented folks at Nightdive Studios who are revitalizing this classic game from Looking Glass.

But that’s not all! Last month, fans were treated to a brand-new stealth experience called Thick as Thieves, crafted by some of the original minds behind the Thief franchise. While it’s a fun ride, some feel it doesn’t fully capture the original PvPvE essence.

Now, here comes the big news: an officially licensed graphic novel titled Thief: Pulse of Promise is in the works! This project is a collaboration between Bit Bot Media and Eidos-Montreal, the team behind the not-so-great reboot from 2014. But fear not, because this new graphic novel won’t be set in that rebooted universe. Instead, it’s positioned between the events of Thief: The Dark Project and Thief 2: The Metal Age, meaning we’ll get the chance to see the original Garrett in action once again!

The graphic novel is being crowdfunded through BackerKit, and there’s a whole lot more on the table beyond just the book. The campaign will feature some awesome perks including a statue, replicas, clothing, plush toys, and an original soundtrack composed by Celldweller, featuring a fresh performance from the legendary voice of Garrett, Stephen Russell. Just imagine Garrett busting out some bars, though that might not align with Celldweller’s style!

While some of the additional items might not grab everyone’s attention, a graphic novel adaptation of Thief seems like a perfect fit! Garrett’s dry voiceovers often read like comic captions, so this transition could be spot on.

As for the release date of Pulse of Promise, there’s no word yet. However, considering the funding campaign hasn’t kicked off, we can probably expect it to drop sometime after the remaster lands, which fits perfectly since the story is set after The Dark Project.

And speaking of the remaster, expect everything you could hope for from Nightdive: enhanced visuals, support for 4K resolution and 120 FPS, plus a treasure trove of behind-the-scenes content. Personally, I’m most excited about the level-select mode, allowing me to jump straight into The Sword whenever the mood strikes, along with support for custom campaigns. This means we can dive into the fantastic fan missions like the unforgettable The Black Parade.

So, gear up, Thief fans! There’s a lot to look forward to in the world of stealth gaming.
