Fallout TV Series Bags 9 Emmy Noms – But Where’s the Love for Walton Goggins?!

Alright, Vault Dwellers and Wasteland Wanderers, gather ’round! The nominations for this year’s Primetime Emmy Awards are out, and guess what? Our beloved Fallout TV series from Prime Video has landed a phenomenal nine nominations for its second season! That’s a huge win for a show based on a video game, proving that game adaptations can absolutely shine on the big screen.

Before we pop open a Nuka-Cola Quantum to celebrate, there’s a little detail that has the entire gaming community, and us at PakGamersHub, scratching our heads. Despite all those impressive nods, not a single one went to any of the incredible actors who brought the post-apocalyptic world to life! We’re talking about the fantastic Ella Purnell as Lucy, Aaron Moten as Max, Kyle MacLachlan as Hank, and even the deliciously unsettling Justin Theroux as Robert House. They all delivered performances that had us hooked!

But the biggest shocker, the one that has everyone absolutely flummoxed, is the complete omission of Walton Goggins for his dual role as Cooper Howard and The Ghoul. Seriously, how did that happen?! Goggins was an absolute standout, embodying the hardened survivor and the pre-war Hollywood star with such depth and charisma. His scenes as Cooper Howard, especially those pre-war flashbacks, were hands down some of the most captivating moments of the entire season. He literally owned every frame he was in!

It’s even more baffling considering Goggins was nominated for his work in Fallout Season 1 last year (though he ultimately lost to Hiroyuki Sanada for Shōgun – no complaints there, Sanada was brilliant). But many argue his performance in Season 2 was even more layered and impactful. Meanwhile, other shows like “The Pitt” racked up 25 nominations, “Widow’s Bay” got 19, and “Pluribus” received 18. And while actors like Noah Wyle, Mark Ruffalo, and Gary Oldman earned nominations for Lead Actor in a Drama, the absence of Goggins feels like a massive oversight.

But let’s not dwell entirely on the snubs. Fallout Season 2’s nine nominations are still a testament to the show’s overall quality and dedication to its source material. The series was recognized in categories that highlight its incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. These include two nominations for Outstanding Makeup (both non-prosthetic and prosthetic), which is no surprise given how perfectly The Ghoul was brought to life!

Additionally, the show earned a nod for Outstanding Fantasy/Sci-Fi Costumes, which is well-deserved considering the authentic wasteland attire and the iconic power armor. There’s also a nomination for Outstanding Stunt Performance for the episode “The Profligate,” which definitely had some memorable action sequences. Rounding out the nominations are categories like sound editing, sound mixing, hairstyling, and production design. These technical triumphs truly made the show visually and audibly immersive, pulling us right into the desolate yet vibrant world of Fallout.

So, while it’s a bittersweet moment with the acting categories being overlooked, especially for the legendary Walton Goggins, these nine nominations are still a massive achievement for the Fallout series. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Season 3 finally gets Goggins the Emmy recognition he absolutely deserves!
