Heard some sad news from the gaming industry again, guys. Seems like Gamepires, the studio behind the survival game Scum, has just announced layoffs among their team. What's really wild is that this comes only about eight months after Splash Damage Group acquired them. And get this, Splash Damage themselves had layoffs shortly before that acquisition, actually claiming the Gamepires deal would help *protect* jobs and stabilize things. It's just heartbreaking to see developers lose their jobs, especially when promises of stability get broken so quickly after a big company buyout. Really makes you wonder about the bigger picture behind these acquisitions sometimes.
