Fun and Action Await in Mayday: Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh Team Up!
The first look at the upcoming action-comedy Mayday has just dropped, and it promises a wild ride. Set to premiere on Apple TV later this year, the film stars the charming Ryan Reynolds alongside the talented Kenneth Branagh.
The trailer kicks off with Reynolds playing fighter pilot Troy Kelly, who finds himself in a tight spot after a mission goes awry during the Cold War. He’s captured by Branagh’s character, Nikolai Ustinov, who cheerfully reveals that he had to perform emergency surgery on Kelly with barely any anesthesia. Talk about a rough welcome!
But there’s a twist! Ustinov, an ex-KGB agent, surprisingly has a soft spot for all things American and even jokes about how he would probably enjoy McDonald’s. This odd pairing leads to some hilarious moments as Ustinov assists Kelly in his daring escape from enemy territory while the Red Army is hot on their trail.
The trailer is packed with humor and action, featuring a lively soundtrack that sets a fun tone. The chemistry between Branagh and Reynolds looks fantastic, making it a film worth looking out for. Mayday is set to hit Apple TV on September 4, and with such a stellar cast including Marcin Dorocinski, Maria Bakalova, and David Morse, it’s sure to provide plenty of entertainment.
Behind the scenes, the project boasts an impressive team, including producers from the Deadpool and Wolverine franchises, alongside directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, known for their work on Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.
As part of its promotional push, Mayday will also be featured at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. So gear up for this action-packed comedy hitting your screens soon!
