Get Ready for Grim Dawn’s Epic Expansion: Fangs of Asterkarn Drops This July!
Hey gamers! Buckle up, because the highly anticipated final expansion for Grim Dawn, titled Fangs of Asterkarn, is set to launch on July 23. This isn’t just any expansion; it’s being touted as the biggest one yet by designer Kamil ‘Zantai’ Marczewski, and trust me, he’s got some serious numbers to back it up!
The Fangs of Asterkarn is an absolute game-changer, spanning a whopping 6 square kilometers. That’s around 190% the size of the previous expansion, Ashes of Malmouth, and 250% larger than Forgotten Gods! Expect a wild ride through diverse environments that range from snowy mountains to stunning hot springs, all teeming with secrets waiting to be uncovered.
And here’s where it gets even more exciting: instead of the initially rumored 54 new bosses, there will be over 60 challenging foes to take down. But it’s not just about the sheer size and number of bosses; this expansion also introduces a ton of new features that enhance gameplay.
One of the standout additions is the brand new mastery, the shapeshifting berserker. Along with that, players will get to experience the Ascendant Game Mode, customize potions, and even transmute affixes on items. Plus, there are two new roguelike dungeons for those who crave a challenge, five fresh hero monster archetypes, and three factions for players to join forces with.
If you’re a fan of the Crucible DLC, you’ll also be getting an extra 30 waves of challenges. It’s safe to say that there’s a lot to dive into!
On top of all this, when Fangs of Asterkarn drops, a free update, version 1.3, will roll out for the base game. This will include a revamped stash system for better inventory management, WASD controls for more convenience, a UI overhaul, detailed item tooltips, balancing tweaks, bug fixes, and even HDR lighting enhancements.
