Get Ready for Overwatch Season 3: Meet Shion and What’s New!
Why settle for ordinary weapons when you can unleash a motorbike? The upcoming Overwatch Season 3 is all set to introduce us to the electrifying new hero, Shion. This badass character comes equipped not only with firearms but also the ability to hop on a weaponized motorbike, ensuring a whole new level of chaos on the battlefield.
So, when can you dive into the thrilling world of Overwatch Season 3? Mark your calendars! The action kicks off on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 12 am PT / 3 pm ET / 7 pm GMT and will continue until mid-August. If you want to jump in without waiting, you can preload the update on your PC or console (including the new Switch 2!) to save some precious time.
This new season coincides with the conclusion of the current one, so you’ve got just enough time left to wrap up your battle pass and collect those Drives before all the new content drops. Here’s a sneak peek at what Season 3 has in store:
- A new DPS hero: Shion
- The Neon Junction map, inspired by Tokyo
- More heroes joining the Stadium lineup
- A collaboration with Yoasobi
As usual, expect fresh events, an updated battle pass, store bundles, a new mythic weapon, and two mythic skins—one of which will arrive mid-season!
Now, let’s talk about Shion and her incredible abilities. She’s the latest hitscan DPS to join the roster and leads the Hashimoto. Shion brings a unique flair similar to Tracer with her dual semi-automatic pistols and a dash ability, but the kicker? She rides a motorbike! Yes, you heard that right. This allows her to drive around and hurl her bike at enemies—totally wild, right?
With her high mobility and execute skill, she’s likely to be a formidable flanker in the game. Here’s a quick rundown of her abilities:
- Kira Pistols: Rapid-fire anima pistols perfect for close combat.
- Execution: Unleash an X-shaped volley that can be tightened if held.
- Evade: Dash to quickly reposition and gain temporary overhealth.
- Joyride: Get on your motorbike and launch it at foes when you dismount.
- Satsuriku Spree: Rush forward three times while firing in all directions.
Shion also has some exciting perks:
- Minor: Rapid Reload (Evade reloads nine bullets) and X Machina (Execution deals 20% more damage to low-health enemies).
- Major: Refuel (Joyride restores health) and Faces of Death (gains all Damage subrole passives).
The “Faces of Death” perk, in particular, could be a game-changer, giving her access to abilities from other damage subroles, making her swift and deadly as long as you land those shots. Pair that with her mobility, and you’re looking at a DPS character that’s hard to pin down.
I’m definitely looking forward to trying out the X Machina perk for taking down low-health enemies before they can heal, while “Faces of Death” could supercharge her potential on the battlefield. Can’t wait to see how she fits into the Overwatch meta once the season kicks off!
