Lady D and Orin the Red Set to Shine Again in Upcoming D&D Game
Good news for Dungeons & Dragons enthusiasts! Remember the iconic voices that brought characters to life in Baldur’s Gate 3? They’re making a comeback in the latest D&D title, Warlock. This is a thrilling development, considering how Baldur’s Gate 3 showcased the brilliance of incorporating D&D mechanics into RPGs, albeit with some modifications.
While Wizards of the Coast has been busy crafting new experiences, it seems like they’re steering clear of sticking strictly to the traditional D&D formula for now. A while back, they introduced Warlock, an action-adventure game from their studio Invoke, which looks to be their take on an epic journey similar to God of War. It’s a bit surprising since fans are eagerly waiting for a Baldur’s Gate 4, yet Wizards seems to be exploring different creative paths.
Details about Warlock are still under wraps, but we did get some juicy updates during the D&D keynote at Gen Con. The talented Maggie Robertson, known for her roles as Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil Village and Orin the Red in Baldur’s Gate 3, will lend her voice to the protagonist’s patron in Warlock. This character is Tasha, the renowned archfey known for her mischievous spells like Tasha’s Hideous Laughter. If you’re wondering how warlocks gain their powers, it usually stems from a pact with a powerful entity—sounds like Tasha fits the bill perfectly!
Adding to the excitement, the game will also feature Tricia Helfer, famous for her roles in Battlestar Galactica and the Mass Effect series, as the lead character. That’s right—two powerhouse voices are set to enhance this new adventure!
As for the first glimpse of gameplay, fans will need to mark their calendars for Gamescom, which runs from August 26 to 30 in Cologne. We’re looking forward to seeing what Warlock has to offer!
