Major Buffs and New Additions in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader Expansion
If you’re a fan of RPGs, you might want to check out the latest buzz around Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. Owlcat Games is on fire, juggling multiple projects including their upcoming title, The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, and the intriguing Warhammer 40K: Dark Heresy. But that’s not all! They’re also rolling out new content for Rogue Trader as the game marks its 10-year anniversary, and boy, do they have some exciting changes in store.
With the latest expansion dubbed The Infinite Museion, players are in for a treat thanks to a hefty patch that aims to balance the game. One of the key focuses of this update? Buffing some of the game’s weaker classes, particularly the Operative and Assassin archetypes. These classes have been the underdogs of Rogue Trader, often overshadowed by the more powerful Soldier and Executioner classes.
So, what’s new? Well, now the keystone abilities for both Operatives and Assassins can activate during bonus turns. This is a game-changer, especially since maximizing bonus turns is crucial when playing on harder difficulties. Add to that some overall ability enhancements for the Operative class, and we might just see a resurgence of these once-ignored characters in the game!
Meanwhile, Uralon the Cruel, a notorious antagonist from the Chaos Marines, also gets a significant upgrade. Initially, he was considered quite underwhelming compared to other characters, even the basic mercenaries. After the patch, Uralon’s stats, scaling, and loot pool have all been improved, making him a much more appealing choice for those looking to play the villain.
And while there are numerous changes and bug fixes included in this update—like the quirky fix for a glitch at the cultist hideout in Rykad Minoris—there are no nerfs to worry about. It’s refreshing to see Owlcat supporting players who love experimenting with unique builds, like the Bladedancer-Executioners.
Initially, we were quite critical of Rogue Trader, but Owlcat has a reputation for enhancing their games over time, making them feel like they age beautifully. As someone who has poured countless hours into their previous titles like Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Wrath of the Righteous, I’m looking forward to diving deeper into Rogue Trader with all these exciting updates. So, if you haven’t explored this sprawling RPG yet, now might be the perfect time to jump in!
