Marvel Unveils Epic New Trailer for Avengers: Doomsday at CinemaCon 2026
Marvel fans who were lucky enough to be at Disney’s CinemaCon 2026 event got a real treat! Kevin Feige and his crew dropped an exciting new trailer for the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday. This fresh footage marks the first appearance of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom and showcases a plethora of characters from the X-Men, Avengers, and Fantastic Four universes.
While it seems Marvel isn’t ready to release the trailer online just yet, some lucky viewers were present to capture the highlights. The trailer kicks off with a shot of the iconic Xavier Institute sign, setting a dramatic tone. It features a voiceover—presumably Downey’s Doom—warning, “Something is coming, something we might not be able to deter. Before this day is done, we shall divest with an unthinkable decision.” We then see Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart, gazing at a mysterious light in the sky.
As the footage unfolds, we catch glimpses of Avengers Tower, which looks a bit different than usual, and witness an epic meeting between the Fantastic Four, Avengers, and Thunderbolts. There’s even a moment where Letitia Wright’s Shuri interacts with Tenoch Huerta’s Namor, adding to the excitement.
The action heats up as James Marsden’s Cyclops steps into the fray, while Chris Hemsworth’s Thor delivers a profound line about having fought alongside many allies who perished in battles far less daunting than the one ahead. We also see some epic showdowns, including a fight between Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi and Channing Tatum’s Gambit right inside the X-Mansion.
In a heartwarming moment, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man shares a tender kiss with his daughter, played by Kathryn Newton, confirming her role in the film. Thor’s rallying cry is clear when he says, “Put aside your petty squabbles. Presume nothing except this – if you return, we will return as brothers and sisters.” But the stakes heighten when Thor and Doom clash, leading to a jaw-dropping appearance by Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, who summons Mjolnir back to him in a truly epic moment.
As fans eagerly await the public release of this trailer, it seems they might have to hold their horses until the upcoming release of The Mandalorian and Grogu in late May. In the meantime, it’s been confirmed that Doomsday has entered post-production, and its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is already gearing up in pre-production. Marsden also shared his excitement about donning a new, comics-accurate Cyclops suit, making the future of the MCU look even more promising!
