Mastering the Iron Eagle Taming in Crimson Desert
If you’re diving into Crimson Desert and have your sights set on taming the majestic Iron Eagle, you’re in for a wild ride! While it’s not as complex as capturing a Phoenix, this mechanical marvel has a pricier appetite, requiring you to gather rare metals like Mercury or Platinum to gain its trust. Let’s break down how to snag those materials and summon this magnificent creature!
To start, you’ll find the Iron Eagle at the Hawkstone Ruins, located just north of the “A” in Deleysia, on the far eastern side of the game map. To tame this avian beauty, you need one of the following: either 1 Platinum bar or 20 Mercury. Pro tip: go for the Platinum, as it grants a whopping +100 Trust right off the bat!
Now, how do you get your hands on Platinum? First, you need to uncover its recipe, which is chilling at the top of the Great Gate of Urdavah. Head up there, take a left at the stairs, and check out the room filled with those green liquid tanks. Look for a low bookshelf—crouch down, and you’ll find the Platinum recipe waiting for you.
To whip up a Platinum bar, you’ll need: 1 Gold Bar, 4 Brimstone, 3 Mercury, and 2 Holy Water. Gold Bars can be obtained through various methods, and Holy Water is available for purchase at churches like those in Hernand and Senia. The tricky part is gathering Brimstone and Mercury. You can mine for them, but if you’re looking for a quicker route, max out your relationship with the troll scholars at Scholastone. Just trade 10 basic hide materials, and they might reward you with Rubber, Mercury, or Brimstone.
Once you’ve gathered enough materials, visit a Witch Vendor, select Craft Abyss Gear, and craft your Platinum bar just like you would with gold. Now you’re all set to tame the Iron Eagle!
At the Hawkstone Ruins, check out the inscription on the central pillar. It reads: “Step beyond the edge of darkness and grab the handle of dawn to awaken the slumbering steel. Offer the silver shards flowing through the Sotdae, and claim the Wings of Steel.” So, what does this mean for you? You’ll want to wait until 5 AM in-game and interact with the dial located to the left of that inscription. This will summon your Iron Eagle.
Place down the Sotdae of Bond from your inventory and add the Platinum as its feed. Don’t forget to interact with the hole next to the inscription exactly at 5 AM to call forth the Iron Eagle! Once it lands and devours the Platinum, you’ll instantly gain 100 Trust, allowing you to “Take in” the Iron Eagle and make it your loyal pet!
And there you have it! With these steps, you’ll be soaring through the skies on the back of your shiny new Iron Eagle in no time!
