Modern Warfare 4 May Feature Early Access for Campaign Mode

Get ready, Call of Duty fans! The much-anticipated Modern Warfare 4 is just around the corner, set to launch in a few months. Exciting news has surfaced that players might get a chance to dive into the campaign ahead of the official release.

According to a well-known source in the CoD community, a screenshot surfaced showing a “Campaign Early Access” pass available on Xbox. It seems to be part of a collection of packs waiting for installation. However, if you check the official store page for Modern Warfare 4, you’ll notice that it doesn’t mention this pass at all. Instead, it highlights that those who preorder the digital edition will gain early access to the open beta. This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen something like this; remember when Modern Warfare 2 offered a similar early access campaign back in 2022?

As for what we can expect from MW4, developer Infinity Ward is steering the narrative back towards the experience of regular soldiers instead of the superhuman heroes we’ve seen in some past titles. They’ve promised significant improvements in gameplay mechanics, especially in movement and shooting dynamics. Notably, the overly complex movement system from Black Ops 7 is being completely removed.

We’ve also got some juicy details about the cast! The game will feature talents like Luke Tennie from Shrinking and Young Mazino from The Last of Us, portraying Lieutenant Wet and Private Park, respectively. Supporting roles will include familiar names such as Prisca Kim, Lanny Joon, William Lipton, and Barry Sloane, making a return as the beloved character Price.

Mark your calendars for October 23, when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to launch on Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Preorders are already available, but unlike Black Ops 7, MW4 won’t be available on Game Pass right at launch. Infinity Ward has also reassured fans that the game will perform smoothly on the Switch 2.
