NBC Says ‘Game Over’ for Brilliant Minds and Stumble!

Bummer news for TV buffs out there! NBC has decided to pull the plug on two of its recent shows, ‘Brilliant Minds’ and ‘Stumble’. It seems the network has hit the ‘quit’ button, confirming that neither series will be returning for future seasons.

This means ‘Brilliant Minds’ will wrap up after its second season, while ‘Stumble’ won’t be going beyond its debut run, which is set to conclude in March 2026. It’s always tough when a show you’re invested in gets the axe, right?

For those who were following ‘Brilliant Minds,’ the medical drama kicked off in September 2024. Set in the bustling streets of New York City, it featured the talented Zachary Quinto (known from ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’) as Dr. Oliver Wolf. The show drew inspiration from the real-life British neurologist Dr. Oliver Sacks, portraying Dr. Wolf from Bronx General as a brilliant mind with a compassionate touch, solving complex psychological mysteries.

Season 2 of ‘Brilliant Minds’ started in September 2025, taking a mid-season break during the Olympics in February. Good news for fans, though: you can still catch the final episodes, which are expected to begin airing from May 27.

As for ‘Stumble,’ this comedy series debuted in November, following the journey of an elite cheerleading coach, played by Jenn Lyon. Her life gets flipped upside down as she’s forced to build a new squad of lovable misfits and push them to victory. Sadly, the show is now set to conclude after just 13 episodes.

So, why the sudden cancellations? Reports indicate that both ‘Brilliant Minds’ and ‘Stumble’ struggled with viewership, ranking among NBC’s less-watched scripted offerings this season. To give you an idea, ‘Brilliant Minds’ Season 2 barely crossed the 3 million viewer mark in its initial week before streaming, while ‘Stumble’ lagged even further behind with about 2.24 million viewers during the same period. It seems the numbers just weren’t cutting it, yaar.

And if you’re wondering about other popular shows, NBC is apparently still weighing options for the future of classics like ‘Law & Order,’ along with ‘The Hunting Party’ and ‘The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.’ We’ll have to wait and see what happens there, as no official decision has been announced yet.

On the brighter side, the network isn’t sitting idle. They’ve already greenlit eight new pilot episodes for potential series next season, so hopefully, some exciting new content is on the horizon to fill the void left by these departing shows!
