Spider-Man: No Way Home Ending – Did Ned Really Remember Peter? A Magical Theory Resurfaces!

Hey PakGamersHub fam! We’re still reeling from the emotional rollercoaster that was Spider-Man: No Way Home, aren’t we? That ending truly pulled at the heartstrings, leaving our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man completely isolated after Doctor Strange’s universe-saving, but personally devastating, spell.

You know the one: Peter Parker, in a selfless act, asks Doctor Strange to cast a spell making everyone forget he ever existed. This meant his best friend Ned, and his girlfriend MJ, lost all memory of their incredible adventures and deep bond with him. It was a gut-wrenching sacrifice, leaving Peter to start anew, completely alone.

However, the film’s final moments left us with a glimmer of hope – or at least, a lot of questions. We see MJ on the rooftop of Midtown High, clutching the black dahlia necklace Peter gave her, tears streaming down her face. It’s a powerful scene suggesting a subconscious struggle with forgotten memories.

But the real head-scratcher came when Peter paid Ned a visit at the bodega. They perform their signature handshake, and Ned, seemingly out of nowhere, exclaims, “Peter!” before the screen cuts to black. Was this just muscle memory, a coincidence, or something more? The debate among fans has been fierce, with many believing Ned remembered everything, while others felt it wasn’t so clear-cut.

Now, a fascinating fan theory, which has been making rounds online, offers a *magical* explanation for Ned’s potential memory recall. Remember in No Way Home when Ned starts dabbling with Doctor Strange’s sling ring, even conjuring portals to bring in the other Spider-Men? This theory suggests that Ned, having briefly tapped into magical abilities, might have inadvertently imbued their signature handshake with some residual magic.

The idea is that when Peter and Ned perform their handshake at the end, that magically-charged gesture could have been enough to momentarily, or even fully, break the spell for Ned. It’s certainly a compelling thought, especially considering Ned’s brief but significant magical journey in the film.

Even Jacob Batalon, the actor who brilliantly plays Ned Leeds, weighed in on the ending in an interview. He acknowledged the ambiguity, asking, “Does Ned actually remember him, though? It seems a little open-ended.” Batalon suggested it could simply be muscle memory or Ned repeating Peter’s name because that’s what Peter introduced himself as. “I feel like it’s really up to interpretation for everyone,” he said. Though he did hint at a “slight glint or little glimmer” of recognition.

So, what does this mean for the future of our web-slinger? While Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige and Tom Holland himself have spoken about ongoing plans for more Spider-Man adventures, including the eventual introduction of Miles Morales into the MCU, there’s nothing official on the slate yet. The mystery of Ned’s memory only adds to the anticipation for what comes next.

What do you guys think? Is Ned’s “Peter!” a sign of true remembrance, or just a bittersweet moment of subconscious familiarity? Could that handshake truly be magical? Let us know your theories in the comments!
