Steam Train Fest: All Aboard for Discounts, But Train Simulator Classic’s DLC Still Costs a Fortune!
Alright, gamers of Pakistan! Get ready to rev those virtual engines because Steam’s Train Fest has officially pulled into the station, bringing with it a whole trainload of discounts on locomotive-themed games. Whether you’re a seasoned conductor or just a casual passenger, there’s something for everyone, including some shiny new releases.
While there are plenty of great deals to explore, there’s one particular game that always dominates the conversation when it comes to train simulator sales, and that’s none other than Train Simulator Classic. Why, you ask? Well, it’s famous (or infamous, depending on your wallet size) for having an absolutely colossal amount of downloadable content (DLC). We’re talking a mind-boggling 790 individual pieces of DLC!
During the current Train Fest, the base game itself is a steal, boasting a hefty 80% discount that brings its price down to a mere $6 (approx. Rs 1,670). But here’s where things get wild: almost all of its 790 DLCs are also on sale, with discounts ranging from 20% to a massive 80% off. Now, trying to figure out the total cost of all that content is a journey in itself – Steam doesn’t exactly make it easy to add 790 items to your cart at once, nor does it list them all neatly.
After some serious digital detective work, the numbers are in, and they’re pretty eye-watering. If you were to buy every single piece of Train Simulator Classic DLC at its regular price, you’d be looking at a bill of around $15,621.11. Yes, you read that right – enough to buy a decent used car!
However, thanks to the magic of the Train Fest Sale, if you decided to go all-in and grab every single piece of discounted content, your total would “only” be about $6,933.80 (approx. Rs 1,927,600). That’s a whopping 55% off the full price! While that’s an incredible discount percentage, spending nearly 7,000 US dollars (roughly 19.5 lac Pakistani Rupees, depending on the exchange rate) on train DLC still sounds like something out of a fantasy novel for most of us, doesn’t it?
Of course, this mega-purchase is mostly for the most dedicated (and wealthy) train enthusiasts. For the rest of us, it’s a perfect opportunity to snag those one or two specific routes or locomotives you’ve been eyeing. Beyond the Train Simulator Classic saga, the Train Fest also features deals on newer titles like Denshattack, a new release this month, the train survival game EverRail (10% off), and the strategy title Fogpiercer (25% off), both also released in July. Interestingly, the popular Monster Train 1 and 2 seem to have missed the discount train this time around.
So, whether you’re dreaming of a cross-country journey or just curious about the sheer scale of virtual train content, Steam’s Train Fest is worth a look – just be careful not to derail your budget!
