Tensions Rise in Tumbleton as House of the Dragon Season 3 Approaches Finale
Can you believe we’re down to just two episodes left in House of the Dragon season 3? It’s been quite the ride, especially with all the drama unfolding in Tumbleton, which is quickly turning into a volatile hotspot.
In the latest episode, things get heated as Ormund Hightower starts to chip away at Rhaenyra’s power in King’s Landing. He’s been stirring up trouble, claiming that Daeron Targaryen is the true king, which only adds fuel to the fire. Meanwhile, dragonseeds like Ulf the White and Hugh Hammer are lurking in the shadows outside Tumbleton, and things take a dark turn when assassins attempt to take out Daeron, only to be stopped by Gwayne Hightower.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, who brings Daeron to life, recently shared some insights about what’s coming up in Tumbleton as we head towards the season finale. He mentioned that the stakes for his character are escalating with each passing episode. “I think every episode, at least for my character, the stakes are raising tremendously,” he noted. “We start with Daeron as a bit of a side figure in Ormund’s plans, but now he’s being positioned as a king – even getting his own coin!”
However, the pressure is mounting, especially with an assassination attempt in the mix. Daeron is grappling with the tension in Tumbleton and the complicated dynamics with Ormund and Gwayne, not to mention his bond with his dragon Tessarion, who has been kept away from him and tied up in the Sept. Ainsworth indicates that the big question for Daeron is when will he reach his breaking point?
As the plot thickens, viewers are left wondering how Daeron will navigate these challenges and what kind of leader he wants to become. “I think a decision of who he wants to be, and I guess leading with his moral compass, or not, and which direction to go through, I think are the questions in his head at the end of episode six,” shared Ainsworth. “You’ll have to wait and see how that unfolds.”
With the season wrapping up soon, fans are eager to see how everything plays out. House of the Dragon season 3 airs weekly on Sky, NOW, and HBO Max for viewers in the UK, and on HBO in the US. Stay tuned for more updates on this thrilling saga!
