Tesla and Intel Join Forces for Cutting-Edge AI Chips
Elon Musk is shaking things up once again! This time, he’s teaming up with Intel to tackle the ongoing chip shortage with his ambitious Terafab project. During a recent earnings call at Tesla, Musk revealed that they plan to utilize Intel’s upcoming 14A chip technology to power devices across Tesla, SpaceX, and even xAI.

Intel’s 14A node is still a couple of years away from being fully operational, but Musk is optimistic about its potential by the time Terafab ramps up. He mentioned, “We plan to use Intel’s 14A process, which is state-of-the-art… by the time Terafab scales up, 14A will be fairly mature or ready for prime time.” Sounds promising, right?
Previously, Intel had been cautious about rolling out this technology, waiting for a solid customer base to justify the push.
