Valve Invites Gamers to Weigh In on Steam Deck’s Verified Ratings

Valve’s Steam Deck, even though it’s been around for a while, remains a top choice for playing PC games on the go. Developers are actively tweaking their titles to enhance the gaming experience on this portable device. To support these efforts, Valve has rolled out new tools aimed at ensuring that games maintain their Verified status.

According to a recent blog update, two exciting tools have been introduced for developers. The first tool focuses on collecting frame rate data from players who consent to data sharing. This tool tracks a rolling 30-day average, helping developers determine if recent updates or patches have had a negative impact on game performance. Currently, this feature is exclusive to games already holding the Verified certification. However, it will soon extend to titles that are classified as “Playable,” which is likely to help improve overall performance for more games.

The second tool allows players who engage with a game for more than 10 minutes to directly provide feedback to developers and Valve about the game’s Verified status. Players can raise concerns and suggest changes regarding factors like in-game text clarity, performance, and stability, which might warrant a re-assessment of the game’s certification. This initiative encourages the community to actively participate in the gaming ecosystem, ensuring that the Steam Deck continues to deliver a high-quality experience.

So, if you’re a Steam Deck user, keep an eye out for any updates related to this feedback mechanism and let your voice be heard!
