Warhammer 40,000’s 11th Edition Trailer: A Glimpse into the Dark Future
Warhammer 40,000 fans, brace yourselves! The trailer for the upcoming 11th edition has dropped, and it’s packed with the dark, gritty vibes we all love. Remember that iconic opening line about “no peace amongst the stars”? It’s back, and it hits just as hard as it did in the very first edition back in 1987!
This new glimpse gives us some serious screen time with The Emperor, showcasing his various stages of decay. Whether this represents his slow mummification over 10,000 years or reflects how different factions view him — as a divine figure or just a rotting corpse propped on a throne — the imagery is haunting! Let’s be real, he’s definitely not winning any beauty contests.
And let’s talk about the Warp! We get a metal-as-hell view with glimpses of the Ruinous Powers and a couple of other gods crashing the scene. If you’re thinking of diving into a Warhammer 40,000 tabletop RPG, this trailer is sure to set the mood for your players!
Unlike the previous trailer that highlighted the clash between orks and the Blood Angels on Armageddon, this one broadens its scope. It follows a pilgrim making his way to the Golden Throne, eventually joining the Astra Militarum. Along the way, we catch a look at various factions in fierce battles across the galaxy. The Adeptus Mechanicus takes on the necrons, Salamander marines square off against tyranids, and the Astra Militarum heroically stands strong against the Night Lords.
Intriguingly, the aeldari are shown enjoying a rare moment of peace instead of being embroiled in war, paying homage to a classic illustration from Warhammer 40K’s second edition. But sadly, the t’au, drukhari, and even the Leagues of Votann don’t make the cut this time. And let’s not forget the genestealer cults, which are technically separate from the tyranids now, so they miss out too. It’s a colossal universe, and we might just see more trailers before the big launch on June 20!
