Ace Combat Zero Takes Flight to PC as a Pre-Order Bonus for Ace Combat 8
In a surprise move during Sony’s latest State of Play event, Bandai Namco unveiled that the beloved classic, Ace Combat Zero, is finally making its way to PC! This exciting news comes as part of the pre-order perks for the deluxe edition of Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, which launches on October 1 for both PS5 and Steam.
Ace Combat Zero holds a special place in the hearts of gamers, being two decades old and originally released on the PS2 without any HD remaster or PC version until now. With this port, it will only be the third game in the iconic Ace Combat franchise to land on PC, and fans are buzzing about it. The game promises to deliver the classic aerial dogfighting action that players have come to expect, but with a unique twist—Norse mythology!
The game features a reputation system that changes based on your in-game decisions, particularly how you engage with multiple targets. Depending on your approach, you could earn titles like Mercenary, Soldier, or Knight, which affects the factions you confront. Set against the backdrop of a mythical land dubbed The Round Table, players will battle rival pilots, and the gameplay culminates in an epic one-on-one jousting showdown.
Ace Combat Zero is known for blending both Norse and Arthurian elements, making its themes richer and more engaging. The reputation mechanics also evoke memories of the Armored Core series, where your mission choices shape the future of mega-corporations. However, none of the Armored Core titles feature flamenco guitar, which is a unique flair of Ace Combat Zero!
While Ace Combat Zero doesn’t have its own Steam page just yet, it’s expected to be available either alongside or prior to the release of Ace Combat 8. For those eager to dive into the skies early, the deluxe edition provides early access on September 29, priced at $90 (approx.
