You gotta head to the No.3 Wildlife Sanctuary, which is northeast of the Dessicated Desert. The whole place is protected by these patrol crafts, so you'll need to be stealthy while mining. They say the Ancient Bone looks like a ribcage, which you can grab with any mining tool, but I’d recommend using something quick to dodge those patrols.
