EA Canned Mass Effect Masterpiece?!
0
Just heard some absolutely gut-wrenching news straight from a BioWare veteran about the next Mass Effect that got completely scrapped. Apparently, the team was cooking up something insane, aiming for a level of player choice and autonomy that would have blown even Larian's best work out of the water, truly pushing the boundaries of RPGs. But thanks to EA's corporate restructuring after the Saudi PIF acquisition, they're ditching ambitious single-player projects for more live-service shooters, costing hundreds of talented devs their jobs and us this potential masterpiece. It's infuriating to think we were this close to a truly revolutionary Mass Effect, a game that could have redeemed the series, only for it to be sacrificed on the altar of corporate greed. This is exactly why the industry feels so stagnant sometimes; genuine innovation and player-centric design consistently lose out to quick cash grabs.
