Sweeney Rages at Steam AI Disclosures: Hypocrisy Much?
0
Guys, there's a huge debate kicking off again about Steam's mandatory AI disclosure policy for games. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney is absolutely tearing into Valve, calling these requirements 'partisan' and claiming they're actively harming developers' businesses. It's pretty ironic coming from him, especially since Epic itself recently talked about going 'AI first' and even planned an AI game jam, which they then changed. Frankly, I think Steam is right to be transparent; with so much AI-generated 'slop' potentially flooding the market, gamers deserve to know what they're actually buying. Sweeney's outrage feels less about developer welfare and more like another shot at Steam, but I stand with Valve on ensuring we get clear info about AI use in our games.
