I just read that Assassin's Creed Origins is being hailed as possibly the best open world in the entire franchise, and honestly, I couldn't agree more. Ubisoft's decision to set the game in a crumbling Ancient Egypt during its twilight years paints a beautifully tragic picture of history, and it's such a bold move away from the typical golden peak eras we usually traverse. The architectural contrasts between Egyptian gods and Greek influences really make the world come alive, and the vastness is breathtaking. I spent over 27 hours exploring, yet I still have areas left on my map! While I still have a soft spot for Black Flag's swashbuckling Caribbean, the immersive storytelling and rich cultures woven into Origins give it an edge that's hard to overlook. This game's world is not just something to explore; it’s a vivid walking history lesson, and I can’t stop recommending it to my fellow gamers.
