Mortal Shell 2: The Upcoming Soulslike That’s Got Gamers Buzzing
Mortal Shell 2, the much-anticipated sequel in the Soulslike genre, is set for release on August 20 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Fans are eagerly awaiting this title, especially after catching a glimpse of the intense and grotesque bosses showcased in the latest trailer. Developed by Cold Symmetry, this sequel promises an upgraded combat experience that’s as visceral as it is engaging.
Following in the footsteps of its predecessor, Mortal Shell 2 offers players a third-person action RPG where you’ll find yourself battling through hordes of both majestic and grotesque Gothic enemies. This time around, the game world is rumored to be significantly larger, allowing for deeper exploration. Players will unlock special Shells that can be equipped on their character, altering their abilities and fighting techniques. It’s a bit like tapping into the spirits of legendary warriors from the past.
The first Mortal Shell did fairly well, providing enough of a foundation for Cold Symmetry to build a more ambitious sequel. Early impressions of Mortal Shell 2, especially from the open beta available on Steam, suggest that the game has made impressive strides. During my time with the demo, I was left craving more—exactly what a good demo should do! This new installment seems to have addressed many of the clunky mechanics from the original while also adding ranged weapons, delivering a much more dynamic combat experience.
As a fan of the genre, I often dive into any game that has a solid parry system, and I can confidently say I’m excited about what Mortal Shell 2 has to offer. If the combat lives up to Cold Symmetry’s promises of a vast, dungeon-filled world, we could be looking at something truly special. Plus, with a price tag of only $50 (approx. Rs 13,900), it’s an attractive option for gamers wanting to dive into a thrilling new adventure.
Note: PKR figures are approximate, based on a rate of Rs 278.00 per USD. Exchange rates fluctuate — please check the latest dollar rate for exact pricing.
